Carmen-Francesca Banciu - born 1955 in Lipova, Romania as the only child at the party activist's family. Studied at schools in Bucharest,  from 1991 lives in Berlin. Writes  novels, novelettes and essays, since 1996 also in German.  Often writes about her own life experiences. Her first written in German book, "Vaterflucht" (1998) is a story about the fathers- party officers.

Tomasz Dominiak - Born  1967, Wrocław, Poland. Studied German Philology at the Wrocław University and is an interpreter now. Used to work at the preparation of  novelettes collection by chosen young German writers. The most important texts of the collection are novelettes by Marc Degens from the book Unsere Popmoderne and Kolja Mesing from Minibar. Both writers were the scholarship grantees of Villa Decius Scholarship Programme. The second project of Tomasz Dominiak was translation the one of the most important German Postmodernist novel, Eumeswil (1978) by Ernest Jünger.

Jakub Ekier -  born 1961, polish poet, translator, essayist, journalist.  Studied German Philology at the Warsaw University. In 1992 published the collection of poems Z dnia na dzień (From Day to Day) and in 1999 Podczas Ciebie (During you). Ekier translated many important German authors like: Celan, Kunze, Frisch, Kafka, Schlegl. His poetry is inspired by Celan and Ryszard Krynicki and is very word- saving with ambiguity and moodiness consistence.  Since 1994 Ekier cooperates with Literatura na świecie magazine. He is a winner of Barbara Sadowska Award (2001) and The Fourth Columns Award.

Dieter M. Gräf -  born 1960 , Germany. Studied German studies, political science and philosophy. In 1996-2007 member of P.E.N.- Zentrum Deutschland, in 1999-2001 was a member of jury of Literarischer März Darmstadt contest.  Awarded by Leonce-und-Lena award in 1993 and 1997 also The Book of a Year Award in Rhineland-Palatinate in 1994 and 2002.  A scholarship grantee of Villa Aurora in Los Angeles, 1999; Villa Massimo in 2004 and also Villa Decius in 2009.

Sława Lisiecka - born 1947, Germanist, prominent translator of German belles- lettres and philosophic literature. Translated about 80 books:  poems, dramas and famous authors novels like Peter Härtling, Stefan Heym, Siegfried Lenz, Günter Grass, George Tabori, Hermann Hesse, Adolf Muschg, Thomas Bernhard, Elfriede Jelinek, Franzobel, Juli Zeh i Christoph Ransmayr also proceedings  by Max Weber, Ludwig Wittgenstein and Martin Heidegger. With her husband, Zdzisław Jaskuła she translated poems by Ingeborga Bachmann and Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche.

Andrij Ljubka born 1987, poet, translator, essayist, critic. An author of  the collection of poems: Wisim misjaciw szizofrenii (Eight months of schizophrenia) (2007), Terroryzm (Terrorism) (2008). Published many poems and translations in magazines like: Kyjiwska Ruś", "Szczo" "Wseswit", "Potjah-78" also at almanacs:  Dżynsowe pokolinnja (Generations of jeans), Karpatska sałamandra, (Carpathian Salamander) Korzo, Kurier Krywbasu. Participant of various European and Ukrainian literature congresses and festivals, also in Berlin, Insbruck, Darmstadt, Moscow, Kiev. Awarded by Debut Literature Award (2007). His poems were translated on Hungarian, German, Russian,  Belorussian, English, Polish and Portuguese. Ljubka lives and works in Uzhorod.

Jonas Maron - born 1969, Berlin. Since 1992 works as an independent photographic, his works were exposed on many exhibitions and were also bought by few German museums, like Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin. Jonas Maron is also a photographic teacher in Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie und Gestaltung, Berlin. Is known as an expert during many various photography plants, in Florence and New York as well.

Thomas Palzer- born 1956. Studied philosophy and German literature in Munich and Vienna. Journalist, essayist, cooperating with German media is an author of songs lyrics and radio scripts which for he was awarded many times. Lives in Munich now. Palzer was working in Cracow at "Translating the city on his own words- Cracow as an alphabet of words, names, concepts and ideas using in this town- briefly: Cracow as a product of his own literature".  First conception of the title was "Krakow, Alphabeth City". Cracow was researched by the words and concepts which exist only or mainly in the town. The outcoming project is going to be a movie/radio play, in which Cracow is showed against the own history, ideas and dreams.

Joanna Pawluśkiewicz - born 1975. Polish writer also engaged in the movie and television production,  co-leading "Moma Film"- movies foundation. Her novels were published in "Ha!Art" and "Lampa". Lives in Cracow now. Scholarship grantee of "Homines Urbani" programme  in Villa Decius,  October 2009.

Rebecca Maria Salentin - born 1979, Germany. Writer, used to work for "EDIT Papier für neue Texte" magazine. Salentin is the owner of summer cafe ZierlichManierlich in Leipzig. In 2007 published a novel "Hintergrundwissen eines Klavierstimmers", which action takes place in XIXth -century Cracow. Participant of various literature German scholarships (Schriftstellerhaus Stuttgart 2008; Literarisches Colloquium Berlin 2007). The finalist of Open Mike in Berlin, was publishing in many other anthologies and magazines. Constantly cooperating with websites:  www.poetenladen.de and www.der-goldene-fisch.de. Scholarship grantee of Villa Decius programme, 2009.

Marta Syrwid- born 1986, writer. Currently studying Film theory on Jagiellonian University and is also non-enrolled student of Cracow Movies School and Audiovisual Communication.  Debuted as a writer at the age 16  in "Ha!Art". Her novelettes were published also in "Lampa", "Zoopa", "Undergrunt" and "Borussia". Since 2004 is constantly cooperating with "Perspektywy" as an author of interviews and articles about education. At the day of her 18th birthday Syrwid was Kazimiera's Szczuka's guest in "Wydanie II poprawione". She was also a grantee of scholarship by  Jolanta's and Aleksander's Kwaśniewski Foundation of Young Talents Help. Scholarship grantee of Villa Decius programme, 2009.

Andreas Volk - born 1971, Germany. Translator, journalist, coordinator  of translating-literature projects. Studied Slavic studies on Free University of Berlin and Comparistic studies of  Central Europe on European University Viadrina at  Oder Frankfurt. Interpreting polish contemporary literature (texts by Paweł Sala, Małgorzata Sikorska- Miszczuk, Magda Fertacz, Inga Iwasiów, Sławomir Shuty, Mariusz Sieniewicz). Currently lives in Warsaw. Scholarship grantee of Villa Decius programme, 2009.

Oksana Zabużko - born 1960, Ukrainian writer, poet and essayist. As a  doctor of philosophy on Kiev University she lectured Ukrainian philology at the US universities. Zabużko is mostly known as an author of novel Field Work in Ukrainian Sex, published at 1996 and translated on Hungarian, Czechs, German, French and Polish in 2003. At March 2006 an adaptation of novel appeared at the "Polonia Theater" (directed by Krystyna Janda). The director of  monodrama was Małogorzata Szumowska and the leading role stared famous Polish actress- Katarzyna Figura. In 2007 Zabużko published in Poland her poems anthology  Siostro, siostro (Sister, sister).

Jakub Żulczyk - born 1983, writer and journalist,  studied journalism on Jagiellonian University at Cracow. Cooperating with Lampa and Machina magazines is also a constant feuilletonist in Exklusiva magazine. Every week writes feuilletons named "15 minutes of fame"  about polish pop-culture anomaly at Dziennik.

Annette Mingels born 1971, Cologne. Studied German studies, linguistics and sociology.  Her PhD thesis was about  Dürrenmatt and Kierkegaard. Currently works at the university at Fribourg and lives in Zurich. At March, 2009 Mingels was a participant of Villa Decius HALMA scholarship, established by Swiss Foundation for Culture Pro Helvetia. Published two novels in German publisher Dumont till now: "Die Liebe der Matrosen" (2006) and "Der Aufrechte Gang" (2007) and also repeatedly awarded anthology of novelettes "Romantiker. Geschichten von der Liebe" (2007), where she writes about love and her effects. The German Press have praised Mingels for inconvenient ability of building the atmosphere and creating authentic and lively characters on the background of colorful company.

Ladislav Cumba born 1976, Czech playwright and director. The author of  Wittgenstein in Kladne play which premiere is on 6th February 2010 in the Prague alternative theater Alfred ve dvoře. Čumba is a creator of the project conception and the author of the play script. At Cracow he continued his researches about life and the family of Ludwik Wittgenstein- one of the most famous XXth- century philosophers. The scholarship was founded by the Praque Institute of Art Theater.
