Recruitment

How many and what kind of references are required for the application?
Please send us two letters of reference, for instance from your professor, doctoral adviser, tutor,
the responsible person from your internship etc.

Can my travel costs be reimbursed?
We do not cover any travel costs.

Participation

How long does it take to obtain a visa?
We recommend to start the visa application one month in advance.
Please check the details at the respective consulate. Visa is obligatory for non-EU citizens.

Do I need an invitation letter on the border?
Non-EU citizens need an invitation letter on the border.

Will somebody meet the participants at the railway station/airport in Krakow?
No, we will let you know in advance how to get to the Villa/accommodation.

How to get to the Villa building/hotel from the airport/railway station?
Detailed information will be provided in advance.

Are there any transport concessions for students in Krakow?
Students of Polish universities with a Polish student identity card can purchase reduced tickets called "bilet ulgowy ustawowy". If you are a student of a foreign university, younger than 26 years and possess an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) or a EURO <26 Student World card, you can use reduced tickets called "bilet ulgowy gminny".  

Can I pay the registration fee in cash on the spot?
Yes. If you intend to pay the registration fee in cash, please let us know in advance.

Are all lectures obligatory for the participants?
Yes.

Would it be possible to miss one day of the programme
of the Visegrad Summer School?
No. You are required to participate in all parts of the programme. We do not accept any lateness or leaving earlier.

Is WIFI access available on campus/at the villa?
Yes.

Can you book for me a room for one night longer/earlier?
You can independently book a room beyond the period of the summer school on your own expense. The contact details of the reception will be provided on request.

Is there a swimming pool near my accommodation?
