The author of the Sergio Vieira de Mello Prize statuette

Graduated with distinction from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. The number of his artistic works includes the Warsaw monuments to Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński in Krakowskie Przedmieście and to Stefan Starzyński, the Mayor of Warsaw. Renes designed many of the annually presented awards: Wiktor for the best television personality, the Wprost Weekly's Kisiel Award, the Czempion Award for the 10 best sportspeople of the year. His sculptures were presented at individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad, and can be found in museums and private collections.

An important aspect of Renes's work are questions related to the handicapped children. The artist has published 4 educational books for blind children. Since 1987, he has worked at the Centre for Physical Therapy of Children and Youth in Mielnica nad Gopłem. In 1999 he received the Order Uśmiechu (Order of the Smile) awarded by children.
