VISEGRAD FILM MARATHON

[2010-07-07] Villa Decius Association invites you to the Visegrad Mikro Kino Film Marathon within the framework of 9th Visegrad Summer School. It's a subjective filmography review about Czech, Polish, Slovak and Hungarian films from the last years, including various species of prize-winner by the judges and the audience full-movies and short films, documentaries and animated films on July 15, from 17.00 to 24.00. Tickets available at the ticket Office in Mikro Cinema, Lea 5 Street. 

9th Visegrad Summer School - lectures and debates

[2010-07-06] The greater part of the Visegrad Summer School is primarily addressed to a group of elected members of the revision on the basis of previously submitted applications. However, some lectures and debates, and this year the Visegrad film marathon at the cinema "Micro", are open to the public. We always have an open inaugural lectures, which outline the main thematic areas implemented within two weeks of the program and some of his positions. All open meetings will be held at Villa Decius. Admission is free.

9th Visegrad Summer School

[2010-07-04] July 5, 2010 year in the Villa Decius the ninth Inauguration Visegrad Summer School had a place. This year's edition is being attended by 49 young people from 11 countries of Europe: Polish, Hungarian, Czech, Slovakia and Ukraine, and Belarus, Macedonia, Germany, Russia, Romania, Slovenia. This year's edition opened a lecture School Regions and the European Union - seeking a compromise on foreign policy, which gave Mr. Pawel Zalewski, Member of the European Parliament. Then, the debate Fri Chairmanship of the European Union - between regional and European perspective with the participation of Ambassadors of Hungary and Bohemia, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic and the representative of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sergio Vieira de Mello Prize - 7th edition

[2010-06-03] Following the initiative of the Villa Decius Association Sergio Vieira de Mello Prize was established in the year 2003 with an aim to promote democracy and tolerance, and to pay tribute to Sergio Vieira de Mello, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The Prize is awarded for special merits in peaceful coexistence and cooperation of communities, religions and cultures. Following the initiative of the Villa Decius Association Sergio Vieira de Mello Prize was established in the year 2003 with an aim to promote democracy and tolerance, and to pay tribute to Sergio Vieira de Mello, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The Prize is awarded for special merits in peaceful coexistence and cooperation of communities, religions and cultures. The Prize is awarded annually in two categories: 1) a person, 2) a non-governmental organisation. Candidates for the Prize might be from Poland and abroad.

Referring to the Year of Frederic Chopin's leading theme at this year's Sunday Decius main theme will be the life and work of the greatest Polish composer.

Week of the Ukraine

[2010-04-30] Villa Decius Association once again supported the project of the Independent Students' Association of Cracow University of Economics Krakow Fri Week of Ukraine. The project includes a series of meetings, debates, artistic actions and competitions will take from 17 to 23 May 2010. May 21 at the Villa Decius will be a panel discussion, "Does the story help the strategic partnership with Polish and Ukrainian?". Immediately after the meeting, an evening of contemporary poetry with the participation of Ukrainian Andriy Lyubka. Guests will receive a premiere meeting the number of trilingual literary magazine Radar. Admission free.

Polish-British Round Table 2010

[2010-04-28] Polish-British Round Table is an annual meeting of politicians, diplomats, intellectuals and experts from the Polish and UK devoted to the most current problems of Europe. Project conference, which this year will be the third time, was created as a result of co-operation Centre for European Strategy - demosEUROPA (Warsaw), Union & Poland Foundation (Warsaw), the Royal Institute of International Relations (London), Centre for European Studies (Oxford) and Villa Decius Association.
