Visegrad Summer School
Call for applications - 9th edition

[2010-02-27] The Visegrad Summer School is a two-week educational programme which provides an interdisciplinary learning space for young Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Slovak students, and for their peers from other Central and Eastern European countries. The programme consists of lectures, panel debates and seminars on issues and challenges relevant to the Visegrad Group region, the European Union and the CEE countries. The topics cover current social, economic, political and cultural issues, such as need of providing global institutions, Eastern Partnership, environmental protection, as well as regional and Euroatlantic cooperation. As former editions have shown the Visegrad Summer School is an unique forum to build relations of acceptance, friendship and cooperation between young people, who will soon shape the future of their countries and the continent. Deadline for submitting applications: 31 March 2010.

The basis of all programmes is the idea to bring together representatives of different scientific and cultural disciplines, nationalities and areas of interests, the idea to exchange thoughts and to promote pluralism and tolerance in the public sphere.

Visegrad Summer School
Announcement

[2010-02-10] 9th edition of the Visegrad Summer School will be held at the Villa Decius on July 4-17, 2010. Call for appplications will be launched on March 1st 2010, deadline for submitting documents is March 31st 2010. More information will be available on www.villa.org.pl.

Ethnicity in the City
Call for Participation in European City Seminars 2010

[2010-01-13] Deadline for submitting applications for project dealing with migration’s influence of on European cities is January 31st, 2010. The following seminars on ethnicity and multiculturalism are scheduled: 1) Ostrava (Czech Republic) and Krakow (Poland), 16 - 21 April 2010; 2) Bratislava (Slovakia) and Vienna (Austria), 14 - 18 May 2010; 3) Berlin (Germany), 18 - 21 June 2010. The project is realized by Multicultural Centre Prague. The Villa Decius Association acts as its Polish partner.

New Year’s concert
1st January 2010

[2009-12-18] On January the 1st 2010 at 5 p.m. Decius Villa Association would like to invite you to a New Year’s concert. The concert is under the patronage of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Krakow. The performer of the music program will be Konstanty Wilenski, a composer and a pianist. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin falling in 2010, the program of the New Year’s concert will relate to the incipient jubilee. The artist will perform the pieces of Fryderyk Chopin in classic interpretations and author’s arrangements. The program of the second part of the evening will be of carnival character.

Chopin’s Heritage. The recital of Konstanty Wilenski.

[2009-12-14] Decius Villa Association would like to invite you to the last concert as a part of Chopin’s Heritage program in 2009. On Wednesday, December the 30th at 6 p.m. Konstanty Wilenski will perform in a grand piano recital. On the occasion of the upcoming Christmas holiday the concert will be preceded by a performance of ‘Capella sw. Cecylii’ group (‘St. Cecilia capella’) under the direction of Malgorzata Mazur, to the accompaniment of Barbara Halling.
